The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB is a mainstream RDNA 4 graphics card with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus, 2,048 cores, approximately 150-160W power draw, and a $299 MSRP.

We've deliberately carried the 16GB version of the RX 9060 XT until now and skipped the 8GB variant, for the same reason we skipped the 5060 Ti 8GB, VRAM capacity at this tier ages badly. We're adding the 8GB version now for completeness and price comparison, not because we think it's the smarter buy over its own 16GB sibling.

Same Core Count, Half the VRAM

2,048 cores identical to the 16GB card, this genuinely is the same GPU silicon with less memory attached, the $50 gap between the two variants is entirely a VRAM decision, not a performance-tier decision.

Why We Still Recommend the 16GB Version

For $50 more, our existing RX 9060 XT 16GB avoids the exact VRAM bottleneck that will show up first in newer titles at 1440p and even some 1080p titles with high-res texture packs. We're carrying the 8GB version so shoppers can see the comparison directly, not because we think most people should choose it.

Power Requirements

Power draw is effectively identical to the 16GB variant, roughly 150-160W, no meaningful difference in PSU requirements between the two.

Comparison to Alternatives

Against our own RX 9060 XT 16GB, same core count, $50 less, and a VRAM ceiling that will limit this card's useful lifespan sooner. Against NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, also in our catalog, that's the closer apples-to-apples comparison if VRAM capacity actually matters to your decision, which for most builders it should.
