ATEN CS1768 8-Port USB DVI/Audio KVM Switch

Unlike consumer-oriented 2 and 4-port KVMs designed for a desk, the CS1768 ships with 1U rack ears and a chassis depth suited to living inside a server cabinet. Cable management to 8 separate DVI/USB/audio computer connections is handled with ATEN's standard KVM cable kits (sold separately per port), keeping the rear panel organized even at full 8-port capacity.

With 8 machines connected, hunting for the right pushbutton stops being practical, which is where the OSD earns its keep. It supports custom naming per port, quick port search, and a hotkey combination (Scroll Lock twice, then a port number) for fast switching without ever touching the panel. Auto-scan mode can also cycle through all connected computers on a timer for unattended monitoring walls.

Against ATEN's own CS1922 (2-port DisplayPort) and CS1924A (4-port DisplayPort), the CS1768 trades newer display standards for twice the port density at a DVI resolution ceiling most legacy server and workstation hardware still uses. Compared to IOGEAR's GCS1944H (4-port 4K HDMI), the CS1768 is the better fit for environments standardized on DVI outputs rather than HDMI, and its 8-port count suits larger racks the 4-port IOGEAR unit can't cover alone.
