Gelid GP-Extreme Pad (Silicone-Based Pad/Non-Conductive/12 W/mK) Review
Not to be confused with the GP-Extreme thermal paste already in our catalog, this is Gelid's pad version, same brand, same "Extreme" name, different product entirely. If you're shopping by name alone, double check you're grabbing the pad and not the syringe.

Thermal Performance and Conductivity
12 W/mK sits a step below GP-Ultimate's 15, but it's still solidly ahead of most standard pastes, and more than enough for VRAM and VRM duty where it's actually used.
Compound Type and Composition
Silicone-based, non-conductive, the same safe formula family as GP-Ultimate at a slightly lower conductivity tier and lower price.
Application and Consistency
Same as every other pad here: cut, place, mount. Comes in 1.0mm and 1.5mm thicknesses, so pick based on the actual gap you're bridging.
Electrical Safety
Fully non-conductive, no special handling required.
Longevity and Pump-Out Resistance
Set it and forget it, no reapplication schedule, no drying out over time.
Comparison to Sibling Products
Against GP-Ultimate, covered elsewhere on this site, this is the budget pick in Gelid's own pad lineup, lower conductivity, lower price, same brand quality. Against Thermalright Odyssey, GP-Extreme trails slightly on paper (12 vs 12.8 W/mK) but the difference is close enough that price and available thickness options should decide it.
Who This Pad Is Actually For
Winner for: budget-conscious VRAM/VRM cooling where you don't need GP-Ultimate's extra headroom.
GPU VRAM/VRM and motherboard chipset gap-filling on a budget.
Builds where GP-Ultimate's higher conductivity isn't necessary.
Not for: High-wattage components where every extra W/mK matters, step up to GP-Ultimate or Fujipoly instead.
