A 16+1+2 phase VRM using 60A DrMOS stages, built around a Richtek RT3678BE "GOW" PWM controller and Onsemi NCP30215 Dr.MOS stages for VCore, with the VRM components distributed around the LGA1851 socket. The board uses a 6-layer PCB with 2x copper weighting and what Gigabyte describes as a 56% lower dissipation factor, aimed at improving signal integrity specifically to support the board's higher memory frequencies. USB4 Type-C, 5GbE LAN, and Intel's Wi-Fi 7 BE200NGW module with a full 320MHz wireless channel and Bluetooth 5.4 round out a comprehensive connectivity set. Realtek ALC1220 with S/PDIF output handles audio, a genuinely capable codec at this price point.

Beyond the headline CQDIMM support, this board carries Gigabyte's standard EZ-DIY features: tool-free PCIe and M.2 latching, screwless M.2 heatsinks, and a reinforced UD base plate for structural rigidity. The enlarged 64MB BIOS specifically accommodates the firmware requirements of supporting the new CQDIMM memory standard alongside standard DDR5 and CUDIMM compatibility.

Against the Z890 AORUS TACHYON DUO X ICE, covered elsewhere on this site, that board pushes memory speed further still (10,400 MT/s) and adds a full extreme-overclocking hardware suite, at a considerably higher price point aimed at competitive overclockers rather than this board's more mainstream positioning.
