PELADN Link S-3

Unlike most consumer eGPU enclosures — including the Plugable TBT5-AI above — the Link S-3 ships without any power supply for the graphics card. You connect your own external ATX or SFX PSU to it, which is how PELADN keeps the dock itself small and comparatively affordable, but it means the all-in cost and setup complexity depend heavily on whether you already own a spare PSU.

Despite the framing as a value play, real-world pricing reported so far has ranged from roughly $278 USD-equivalent in Canada up to around $460 USD via AliExpress for US buyers, reportedly due to tariffs. That's a wide enough spread that a shopper should verify current regional pricing directly before assuming this is a sub-$200 product.

This is a newly launched, low-volume product from a smaller vendor. Tech press coverage so far is largely announcement/press-release based rather than in-depth hands-on testing, so max GPU length, real-world Thunderbolt 5 throughput, and long-term reliability are not yet independently verified.

Against the Plugable TBT5-AI above, the Link S-3 is the more stripped-down, bring-your-own-PSU option — cheaper to manufacture and in some regions cheaper to buy, but it pushes the cost and complexity of sourcing a power supply onto the buyer rather than including an 850W unit in the box. Against older Thunderbolt 3 all-in-one boxes like the GIGABYTE AORUS Gaming Box series in this catalog, the Link S-3 offers roughly double the interconnect bandwidth and a user-swappable GPU, at the cost of needing your own PSU and GPU rather than a plug-and-play pre-installed card.
