The Pro variant of the SKMN-4S adds a switched CAC/PIV smart-card reader port, so an operator can authenticate to whichever of the four networks is currently active without unplugging a reader or keeping four separate ones on the desk. It's the same isolated KM-only architecture, just built for CAC-gated environments.
Why the CAC Port Matters
Federal and DoD desks increasingly require smart-card login on every hop, and a non-switched CAC reader defeats the purpose of a secure KM switch by leaving an unsecured shared path. The SKMN-4S-P routes the CAC port through the same isolated switching fabric as the keyboard and mouse, so card data only ever reaches the currently selected host.
Still No Video Switching
Like the base SKMN-4S, this unit is KM (plus CAC) only — it assumes each of the four systems already has its own monitor or is fed by a separate secure video matrix such as the SmartAVI SX42PH-4.
