StarTech SV211HDUA Review

The StarTech SV211HDUA is a compact 2-port USB-powered HDMI KVM switch with integrated cables, a 3-port USB hub, and audio/mic switching with a wired remote option.

This is the older, smaller sibling to StarTech's SV211HDUA4K, same integrated-cable, USB-powered concept, but this one caps at 1920x1200 rather than 4K60, so it's the pick only if 4K isn't a requirement and you find it cheaper. The wired remote and software-switching options carry over from the newer model. Versus StarTech's own SV211HDUA4K, the direct 4K60 successor, worth the difference for any modern 4K monitor. Versus the IOGEAR GCS29, a similar compact 2-port HDMI switch at a comparable spec level.

Integrated Cables, USB-Powered

Cables are built directly into the unit and it draws power from the connected computers' USB ports, so there's nothing extra to plug in or buy, a compact all-in-one design.

1920x1200 Ceiling

Resolution tops out at WUXGA (1920x1200), below the 4K60 that StarTech's newer SV211HDUA4K supports, a real limitation if either connected machine outputs 4K.
