StarTech SV231USB Review

The StarTech SV231USB is a 2-port professional USB VGA KVM switch kit that ships with cables, supporting up to 1920x1440 resolution.

This is the classic complete-kit option, StarTech includes both 2-in-1 USB/VGA cables in the box, so there's nothing extra to buy to get it running, unlike a lot of bare KVM switches that assume you already own the right cables. AutoScan cycling (3/8/15/30 second intervals) is a nice touch for monitoring two machines passively. Versus the IOGEAR GCS22U, similar 2-port VGA/USB kit at a comparable price, mostly a wash on features. Versus StarTech's own SV211HDUA4K, moves to HDMI and 4K60 for roughly the same money if your computers output digital video instead of VGA.
