Samsung 860 QVO SATA III SSD, a QLC-based drive built for high-capacity budget storage rather than peak sustained write performance.
QLC packs four bits per cell instead of TLC's three, which is how Samsung gets an 8TB SATA drive down to a genuinely reasonable price. The catch is sustained write performance falls off a cliff once you exceed the SLC cache on large transfers — fine for a media library or bulk backup target, less fine as a drive you're constantly dumping huge files onto all day.
