AOOSTAR AG01 vs ASUS ROG XG Mobile: Comparison
AOOSTAR AG01 vs ASUS ROG XG Mobile: the connection standard difference
They are built to different briefs, and connection standard shows it, AOOSTAR AG01 OCuLink against ASUS ROG XG Mobile Proprietary.
Which should you buy, AOOSTAR AG01 or ASUS ROG XG Mobile?
it is not the pick for buyers who want laptop charging through the eGPU connection. The same goes for handheld PC and mini PC owners with an OCuLink port looking for the cheapest real GPU upgrade. It is the wrong buy for laptops without an OCuLink port, since there's no Thunderbolt/USB4 fallback on this model. Take the ASUS ROG XG Mobile for existing ROG Flow X13/X16/Z13 owners wanting the single fastest available eGPU performance with zero setup complexity. Avoid it for buyers with any other laptop brand, genuinely zero compatibility outside the ROG Flow lineup. Our rating of the AOOSTAR AG01 (7/10): unbeatable value for OCuLink-equipped mini PCs and handhelds, but strictly for OCuLink hosts only. Our rating of the ASUS ROG XG Mobile (9/10): the fastest ultra-compact eGPU available, an integrated RTX 5070 Ti with proprietary low-latency connectivity, limited exclusively to ROG Flow devices.
Which is cheaper, AOOSTAR AG01 or ASUS ROG XG Mobile?
At the last price check the AOOSTAR AG01 was $149 and the ASUS ROG XG Mobile $2,674, a 1695% premium.
