Who each one is for
The GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box suits buyers wanting flagship Turing performance with minimal fan noise and enthusiasts interested in liquid-cooled eGPU novelty, though it is not the pick for budget buyers and anyone wanting to upgrade the GPU later. It is not the one for users worried about long-term AIO pump reliability in a sealed unit. Buy the Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box 650 for RTX 3060/3070-class double-wide card builds on Thunderbolt 3. The same goes for Mac users wanting official Apple eGPU certification on a mid-tier budget. It is the wrong buy for RTX 3080 Ti/3090 or RTX 40-series cards that want more PSU headroom. Our rating of the GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box (7.5/10): A genuinely novel liquid-cooled eGPU that delivered flagship 2019-era performance quietly, at a steep fixed-GPU price.
