Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch vs Huawei MateBook 14 2024: which one fits your build
The Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch suits long battery life for all-day creative or office work, though it is not the pick for anyone who wants to add RAM or storage later. It is equally the pick for buyers who want the XDR display and active cooling over the Air. Avoid it for buyers who need the Pro or Max chip's extra CPU/GPU cores. The Huawei MateBook 14 2024 is the one to take for everyday productivity users and 3:2 display fans, though it is not built for Thunderbolt peripheral users. Our rating of the Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (8.1/10): the 14 inch MacBook Pro with M5 offers 16GB of unified memory, 512GB of storage and a Liquid Retina XDR display at 1000 nits and 120Hz. It weighs 1.55 kg with a 72.4Wh battery and Thunderbolt 4, and it suits creators who want the XDR screen and active cooling. Memory and storage cannot be expanded later. The base M5 chip also has fewer CPU and GPU cores than Pro or Max options, so heavy pipelines may want more.
