Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 vs Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2: Comparison
What is the difference between IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 and ThinkPad P16 Gen 2?
The gap that matters here is refresh rate: IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 60 Hz against ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 360 Hz, which puts ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 83% ahead.
IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 vs ThinkPad P16 Gen 2: which one fits your build
The IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 suits budget buyers who may add RAM later, though it is not the pick for performance-sensitive users. Buy the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 for color-critical creative work at high refresh and buyers who want RAM/storage headroom, though it is the wrong buy for portability-focused buyers. Our rating of the IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 (5.6/10): the IdeaPad 1 15 is a basic 15.6-inch laptop with a Ryzen 5 7520U, 8GB of DDR4 and a 512GB SSD. It has a free SO-DIMM slot with support up to 20GB, so a later memory upgrade is possible for budget buyers. The display is a TN panel, so colors and viewing angles are weaker than IPS screens. The 38 Wh battery is small, and WiFi 5 is dated. Our rating of the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 (9.2/10): the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 is a large mobile workstation with a Core i9-13980HX, RTX 5000 Ada workstation graphics with 16GB of VRAM and 64GB of DDR5. Its 16-inch 3840x2400 OLED touch panel reaches 800 nits at up to 360Hz, and two free SO-DIMM slots allow up to 192GB of RAM. It weighs 2.95 kg, so portability is the cost of all that capacity. The 94Wh battery drains quickly under GPU load, so plan on working near a charger.
