AMD Ryzen 5 5600G vs Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K: Comparison
What is the difference between AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K?
On l3 cache the spread is 25%, AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 16 MB against Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K 12 MB, so AMD Ryzen 5 5600G takes it. They differ on base power too, 65 W on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G versus 125 W on the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K. There is a split on memory type as well, DDR4 on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G versus DDR4-3200 on the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K.
Who each one is for
Take the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G for budget desktop builds wanting genuine Zen 3 performance with capable integrated graphics. It is not the one for buyers specifically needing maximum multi-threaded throughput, the 8-core Ryzen 7 5700G offers meaningfully more within the same generation. Take the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K for gaming-focused desktop builds wanting unlocked overclocking on a 6-core Rocket Lake chip at a lower price than the 8-core options. It is the wrong buy for buyers needing more than 6 cores for heavy multi-threaded productivity work.
Where the two are identical
Where they agree, they agree completely, total cores, performance cores, efficiency cores, total threads and p-core base clock included, so the decision does not turn on any of those. They match on 11 further specifications as well.
Which is cheaper, AMD Ryzen 5 5600G or Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K?
They cost within a few percent of each other, $259 versus $262 when we last looked.
Frequently asked questions
Do the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K differ on p-core boost clock?
Yes. P-Core Boost Clock reads 4.4 GHz on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G versus 4.9 GHz on the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K.
Is the Socket Status the same on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K?
