AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700: Comparison
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700: the l3 cache difference
On l3 cache the spread is 50%, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 32 MB against Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700 16 MB, so AMD Ryzen 7 3700X takes it. The benchmark result agrees. Blender Cycles (CPU) puts AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 9% ahead, 174 against 158 over 105 runs. L2 cache runs the same way, 4 MB on the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X versus 2 MB on the Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700, another win for AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. Pcie lanes runs the same way, 20 on the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X versus 16 on the Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700, another win for AMD Ryzen 7 3700X.
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700: which one fits your build
Take the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X for content creation and gaming builds wanting strong 8-core, 16-thread performance at efficient 65W power draw. Avoid it for buyers who need integrated graphics, this chip requires a discrete GPU. it is not the pick for enthusiasts wanting to overclock, the unlocked i7-10700K offers that flexibility. The same goes for gaming and productivity desktop builds wanting near-i7-10700K performance at a lower power draw without overclocking.
Where the two are identical
Where they agree, they agree completely, total cores, performance cores, efficiency cores, total threads and tdp included, so the decision does not turn on any of those. They match on 8 further specifications as well.
Which is cheaper, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700?
They cost within a few percent of each other, $323 versus $329 when we last looked.
