AMD Ryzen 7 7730U vs Intel Core 7 250U: Comparison
What is the difference between AMD Ryzen 7 7730U and Intel Core 7 250U?
Expect a near tie. The closest thing to a difference is total cores, AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8 against Intel Core 7 250U 10. Add l3 cache to that, 16 MB on the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U versus 12 MB on the Intel Core 7 250U, and the pattern holds. There is a split on socket as well, FP6 on the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U versus FCBGA1744 on the Intel Core 7 250U. There is a split on form factor as well, Laptops, Desktops on the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U versus Laptop on the Intel Core 7 250U.
AMD Ryzen 7 7730U vs Intel Core 7 250U: which one fits your build
The AMD Ryzen 7 7730U suits mainstream desktop builds and everyday productivity, though it is not the pick for extreme overclocking (unless K/X-series) and workstation-class multi-threaded workloads. Buy the Intel Core 7 250U for mainstream business and everyday thin-and-light laptops and office work, browsing, video calls and streaming, though it is the wrong buy for long rendering, video export or code compiling jobs and gaming beyond older or light titles at low settings. The same goes for buyers who want strong single-core speed at a lower price than Core Ultra. Avoid it for copilot+ PC and on-device AI features, since it has no NPU.
Where the two are identical
The common ground is wider than the gap: tdp, integrated graphics, market segment, smt enabled and unlocked multiplier are identical here. They match on 1 further specification as well.
Do the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U and Intel Core 7 250U differ on performance cores?
Yes. Performance Cores reads 8 on the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U versus 2 on the Intel Core 7 250U.
Is the Base Power the same on the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U and Intel Core 7 250U?
It is. Both are listed at 15 W, so it is not a reason to pick one over the other.
