AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF: Comparison
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF l3 cache compared
Start with l3 cache, because it is the widest measured gap between them: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 64 MB against Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF 16 MB, 75% in favour of AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT. AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT also leads on l2 cache, 6 MB on the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT versus 2 MB on the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF. There is a split on socket as well, AM4 on the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT versus FCLGA1200 on the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF.
Who each one is for
The AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT is the one to take for mainstream desktop builds and everyday productivity, though it is not built for extreme overclocking (unless K/X-series) and workstation-class multi-threaded workloads. Take the Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF for enthusiast gaming desktop builds with a discrete GPU already planned wanting Intel's flagship Rocket Lake performance at a lower price. It is the wrong buy for buyers wanting a fallback integrated GPU, the standard i9-11900K includes UHD 750.
What AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT and Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF have in common
Where they agree, they agree completely, efficiency cores, integrated graphics, socket status, market segment and smt enabled included, so the decision does not turn on any of those. They match on 6 further specifications as well.
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF price
Cost splits them too. AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT sits at $499, Intel 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900KF at $549, 10% more.
