What is the difference between AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT and Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K?
Start with l3 cache, because it is the widest measured gap between them: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 64 MB against Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K 16 MB, 75% in favour of AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT. L2 cache runs the same way, 6 MB on the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT versus 2 MB on the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K, another win for AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT. They differ on tdp too, 105 W on the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT versus 95 W on the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K. Integrated graphics is not the same on both, No on the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT versus Yes on the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K.
Who each one is for
The AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT is the one to take for mainstream desktop builds and everyday productivity, though it is not built for extreme overclocking (unless K/X-series) and workstation-class multi-threaded workloads. Take the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K for gaming and productivity desktop builds wanting Intel's strongest mainstream Coffee Lake Refresh performance. It is not the one for buyers wanting the very latest architecture, considerably newer chips offer meaningful IPC and efficiency improvements.
What AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT and Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K have in common
The common ground is wider than the gap: efficiency cores, socket status, market segment, smt enabled and memory channels are identical here. They match on 2 further specifications as well.
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K price
Price will not decide this: $488 against $499 at the last check.
