Core i5-14490F also leads on l3 cache, 18 MB on the Core i5-12400T versus 24 MB on the Core i5-14490F. Tdp is not the same on both, 35 W on the Core i5-12400T versus 65 W on the Core i5-14490F. They differ on integrated graphics too, Yes on the Core i5-12400T versus No on the Core i5-14490F. They differ on release year too, 2022 on the Core i5-12400T versus 2024 on the Core i5-14490F.
Who each one is for
The Core i5-12400T suits small-form-factor PCs and quiet builds, though it is not built for gaming desktops and overclocking. Buy the Core i5-14490F for desktop gaming with a discrete GPU and budget-conscious builds, though it is not the pick for systems without a discrete GPU and HTPCs needing video output. Our rating of the Core i5-12400T (7.3/10): the Intel Core i5-12400T is a low-power desktop chip built for compact and quiet small-form-factor systems. Our rating of the Core i5-14490F (7.4/10): the Intel Core i5-14490F trims integrated graphics for a lower price, aimed at builds already running a discrete GPU.
Where the two are identical
Where they agree, they agree completely, performance cores, socket, socket status, form factor and market segment included, so the decision does not turn on any of those. They match on 5 further specifications as well.
Frequently asked questions
