What is the difference between 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U and 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U?
They are built to different briefs, and p-core boost clock shows it, 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U 4.6 GHz against 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U 4.7 GHz. They differ on igpu too, Intel UHD Graphics 620 on the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U versus Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 on the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U. Microarchitecture is not the same on both, Whiskey Lake, 8th Gen Intel Core on the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U versus Coffee Lake, 8th Gen Intel Core on the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U. There is a split on base power as well, 15 W on the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U versus 28 W on the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U.
8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U vs 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U: which one fits your build
Take the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U for mainstream ultraportable laptops of the Whiskey Lake generation wanting solid everyday responsiveness. It is not the one for buyers wanting the newer Ice Lake or Tiger Lake architecture, later generations deliver meaningful IPC and integrated graphics improvements. Take the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U for the most premium ultraportable laptops wanting maximum responsiveness alongside genuinely capable integrated graphics. Avoid it for buyers needing dedicated gaming or heavy creative graphics capability, a discrete GPU remains necessary for that.
What 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8565U and 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8569U have in common
Where they agree, they agree completely, total cores, performance cores, efficiency cores, total threads and l3 cache included, so the decision does not turn on any of those. They match on 8 further specifications as well.
