Who each one is for
The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5955WX suits mainstream desktop builds and everyday productivity, though it is not built for extreme overclocking (unless K/X-series) and workstation-class multi-threaded workloads. Buy the Threadripper PRO 7995WX for studios rendering at massive scale and engineering teams running heavy simulation, though it is not the pick for gamers and anyone on a limited cooling or power budget. Our rating of the Threadripper PRO 7995WX (9.4/10): the Threadripper PRO 7995WX is the fastest multi-threaded consumer-adjacent CPU AMD sells, but its price and cooling demands make sense only for teams whose software actually scales to 192 threads.
