Acer FA200 vs OWC Envoy Pro FX: which one fits your build
Take the Acer FA200 for gamers and general users wanting 2000 GB of PCIe 4.0 storage at high read speeds. The same goes for buyers who value a 5 year warranty and a 1000 TBW rating. Avoid it for workloads with constant heavy writing, since the NAND is QLC and the drive has no DRAM. Take the OWC Envoy Pro FX for professionals who want Thunderbolt speed with genuine IP67 ruggedness and USB-C fallback flexibility. This combination is rare among Thunderbolt-class drives. It is not the one for buyers without access to a Thunderbolt port who don't need the ruggedness. The OWC Envoy Pro Elektron, covered elsewhere on this site, offers a lower-cost USB-only alternative.
