The gap that matters here is sequential read: Acer FA200 7200 MB/s against PNY Pro Elite V2 880 MB/s, which puts Acer FA200 88% ahead. They differ on bus interface too, PCIe 4.0 x4 on the Acer FA200 versus USB 3.2 Gen 2 on the PNY Pro Elite V2. There is a split on form factor as well, M.2 2280 on the Acer FA200 versus Portable Enclosure on the PNY Pro Elite V2. On warranty there is little in it, 5 Years on the Acer FA200 versus 3 Years on the PNY Pro Elite V2.
Acer FA200 vs PNY Pro Elite V2: which one fits your build
Take the Acer FA200 for gamers and general users wanting 2000 GB of PCIe 4.0 storage at high read speeds. It also earns its place with buyers who value a 5 year warranty and a 1000 TBW rating. Avoid it for workloads with constant heavy writing, since the NAND is QLC and the drive has no DRAM. Take the PNY Pro Elite V2 for budget-conscious buyers who want compact, dependable portable SSD storage without premium pricing. This drive covers everyday backup and transfer needs at an accessible price. It is not the one for creators who need the fastest available portable transfer speeds. The Lexar Professional SL500, covered elsewhere on this site, delivers meaningfully higher throughput.
