AVerMedia PW315 vs Elgato Facecam: Comparison
What is the difference between AVerMedia PW315 and Elgato Facecam?
The first real difference is resolution: AVerMedia PW315 4K30 against Elgato Facecam 1080p60. They differ on primary use case too, Streaming, Conferencing on the AVerMedia PW315 versus Streaming, Content Creation on the Elgato Facecam.
Which should you buy, AVerMedia PW315 or Elgato Facecam?
Buy the AVerMedia PW315 for users who switch between calls and streaming and multi-person desks needing a wider FOV, though it is not built for buyers wanting simultaneous 4K at 60fps and minimalists who prefer a single fixed mode. Take the Elgato Facecam for streamers who want a consistent, non-hunting image without autofocus pulsing during broadcasts. This webcam's fixed focus and Sony sensor directly serve that priority. Avoid it for buyers who move around frequently and need active autofocus to stay in focus. A model with active autofocus covered elsewhere on this site better serves that need. Our rating of the AVerMedia PW315 (7/10): A flexible dual-mode webcam that covers both crisp conferencing and smooth streaming without switching hardware. Our rating of the Elgato Facecam (7/10): A streaming webcam whose genuine Sony sensor and fixed-focus design deliver a more consistent, distraction-free image than many pricier competitors with hunting autofocus.
