No graphics card. No OCuLink adapter card, so if your host is a desktop or a mini PC without an OCuLink port you buy that separately for around $25.

Both supplied cables are 350mm. That is short. Plan for the dock to sit directly beside the host, not on a shelf or under a desk.

This is a frame, not an enclosure. The card sits exposed on a bracket with the power supply behind it.

That means no dust protection and no noise damping, and it also means no airflow restriction at all. A triple-fan card breathes better here than inside the Razer Core X V2.

There is no active cooling of its own because there is nothing to cool. The card's own fans do all the work.

AOOSTAR announced the AG02 with a 500W supply and then revised it to 800W without a public announcement.

Shipping units are 800W. Retailer listings, reviews and forum posts written from the launch materials still say 500W, and some are still live.

Check the label on the unit when it arrives. 800W is enough for an RTX 4090 with margin. 500W would not be, and that is presumably why the change happened.

The power button does not work.

On shipping units the power supply runs whenever mains power is connected, regardless of the button position. This is a design fault, not a unit-level failure, and it is consistent across owner reports.

In practice you switch the dock at the wall or on a powered strip. Annoying rather than dangerous, but it means the dock draws idle power any time it is plugged in, and it is the single strongest reason to hesitate here.

OCuLink is not hot-pluggable in the way Thunderbolt is. Connect it before you boot the host, or expect the card not to appear.

There is no host charging over OCuLink at all. Your laptop or handheld needs its own power brick, so a handheld setup ends up with two cables and two supplies.

The USB4 fallback port works and does support limited power delivery, but it gives up the bandwidth advantage that is the reason to buy this thing.

OCuLink here measures 6.6 to 6.7 GB/s. Thunderbolt 5 on the Razer Core X V2 measures 5.6 to 5.8 GB/s.

That is roughly 15 percent more bandwidth for about half the price, and it shows up as a few frames per second in GPU-bound titles.

It is not a transformation. Both are running a PCIe 4.0 x4 link, and both sit far below a desktop x16 slot. OCuLink simply wastes less of that link on protocol overhead.

AOOSTAR is a small vendor and support is email-based with slow turnaround. There is no local RMA depot in the US or EU.

The unit itself has few failure points: a power supply, a PCIe slot and a connector. But the power button fault shows the quality bar, and we would not count on a replacement arriving quickly.

Winner on bandwidth per dollar: this dock, and it is not close.

Against the Razer Core X V2 at $349.99 with no PSU, the AG02 is under $200 with an 800W supply included. Razer wins on build, host charging and a working power button.

Against the AOOSTAR AG03, that adds Thunderbolt 5 alongside OCuLink in the same chassis. Only worth the premium if your host actually has a TB5 port.

Under $200 when in stock, which it frequently is not.

Add about $25 for an OCuLink adapter card if your host does not have the port, and remember your handheld or mini PC still needs its own power supply.

At this price it remains the cheapest way to run a full-size desktop card off a small machine. We would still buy it, with the power strip workaround understood up front.

Does my laptop have OCuLink? Most do not. Gaming handhelds like the GPD Win Max 2 and several mini PCs do.

Can I use it without OCuLink? Yes, over the USB4 port, at lower bandwidth.

What cards fit? Anything up to an RTX 4090. The open frame has no length or slot limit in practice.

Is OCuLink faster than Thunderbolt 5? Yes, 6.6 to 6.7 GB/s against 5.6 to 5.8.

Will it run an RTX 4090? Yes, the 800W supply covers it.

Can I hot-plug it? No. Connect before boot.

Is it 500W or 800W? Shipping units are 800W. Ignore older listings.

Does the power button work? No. Use a switched power strip.

AG02 or AG03? AG03 only if your host has Thunderbolt 5. Otherwise the AG02 does the same job for less.
