ASRock B860 Steel Legend WiFi

The B860 Steel Legend WiFi extends ASRock's Steel Legend design to the B860 chipset, giving mainstream Intel Core Ultra Series 2 builders a distinctive aesthetic at a lower price than the Z890 Steel Legend WiFi.

Power delivery uses a 14+1+1+1+1 phase design with 80A Dr.MOS stages for VCore, GT, and SA rails, a step down from the Z890 Steel Legend's 18-phase design but still solid for mainstream chips. Four DDR5 DIMM slots run at a native 5600MHz, with overclocking rated up to 8666+ MHz and a maximum total capacity of 256GB. Expansion includes a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot from the CPU and a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot at x2 from the chipset. Storage covers four M.2 slots: one PCIe 5.0 x4, two PCIe 4.0 x4, and one PCIe 4.0 x2. A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet controller handles wired networking, paired with an 802.11axe Wi-Fi 6E module offering dual-band 2x2 support. Audio uses a Realtek ALC1220 codec with Nahimic audio software. Against its sibling ASRock Z890 Steel Legend WiFi in this batch, the B860 Steel Legend WiFi offers one more M.2 slot (four versus three) but a lower memory OC ceiling and Wi-Fi 6E instead of Wi-Fi 7, making it a value trade-off depending on which spec matters more to the build.
