The AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K GC573 is an internal PCIe capture card recording up to 4K30 with 4K60 passthrough, the non-HDR predecessor to AVerMedia's newer GC575.

This is the card the Live Gamer 4K 2.1 (GC575) in our catalog replaced, and it's still sold and still a reasonable buy if you can find it discounted, since it does the same core job (internal PCIe, 4K capture, 4K passthrough) minus HDMI 2.1 and HDR support. If you don't own an HDR display or an HDR-capable console setup, you're not losing much skipping the newer model. If you do, spend the extra money on the GC575 instead.

What the GC575 Actually Added

The jump from GC573 to GC575 was mainly HDMI 2.1 and HDR passthrough support, plus a bump from 4K30 to 4K60 HDR capture. Non-HDR use cases see almost no practical difference between the two.

Comparison to Alternatives

Against the AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K 2.1 (GC575) already in our catalog, the GC573 is the older, cheaper, non-HDR version of essentially the same internal PCIe card, buy the GC575 instead if HDR support matters to you. Still a capable 4K PCIe capture card if you can find it cheap and don't need HDR, otherwise the GC575 replaced it for good reason.

Best for

Budget buyers who can find this discounted now that GC575 has replaced it.
Desktop builders without an HDR display who don't need HDR capture.
Anyone with an older motherboard needing PCIe Gen 2 compatibility over newer Gen 4 requirements.

Not for

HDR console capture, this card doesn't support HDR metadata at all.
HDMI 2.1 features like VRR passthrough, get the GC575 instead.
