Corsair CMK32GX5M2B7000C40 Review
At DDR5-7000, the Corsair CMK32GX5M2B7000C40 is a 32GB (2x16GB) desktop memory kit rated CL40, for a true latency of 11.4ns.
Speed and Latency
The number that matters is true latency, not CL alone. Here it is 40 / (7000 / 2) x 1000 = 11.4ns. That sits on the loose end: 55% of the desktop DDR5 kits we track match or beat it.
Platform Fit
This is for DDR5 desktops: AMD AM5 on 600 or 800 series chipsets, and Intel 600, 700 or 800 series boards with DDR5 slots. It physically will not go into a DDR4 board. On AM5, speeds above 6000 to 6400MT/s usually switch the memory controller to a 2:1 ratio, which adds latency. 7000MT/s suits Intel boards better. Profiles: XMP 3.0.
Capacity and Configuration
It ships as two 16GB sticks, one per channel, the layout every consumer board runs best with. Four DDR5 sticks usually run well below their rated speed, so buy the total capacity you need as one two-stick kit rather than adding a second kit later. 32GB is the comfortable amount for gaming and creative work in 2026.
Build and Cooling
Corsair does not publish the module height, so check your cooler's RAM clearance if you use a large air cooler. The memory chips are not disclosed. That only matters if you plan to tighten timings manually.
Speed Score
Speed Score: 8.5/10. The score blends transfer rate and true latency and only ranks DDR5 kits against each other.

FAQs
Is the Corsair CMK32GX5M2B7000C40 compatible with my motherboard?
It fits DDR5 desktop boards (AMD AM5, Intel 600, 700 and 800 series with DDR5 slots). It does not fit DDR4 boards.
Is 7000MT/s CL40 a good combination?
It works out to 11.4ns true latency. That is tighter than 45% of the desktop DDR5 kits we list.
Can I add a second kit later for four sticks?
It is not recommended. Four DDR5 sticks usually run well below their rated speed. Buy the total capacity you need as one two-stick kit.
Is 7000MT/s good for AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000?
It works, but above about 6400MT/s AM5 usually switches to a 2:1 controller ratio. A 6000MT/s kit is the safer AM5 choice.
