Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2E3200C16 Review

The Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2E3200C16 is a 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 kit at 16-20-20-38 and 1.35V, 288-pin unbuffered non-ECC, black low-profile aluminum, one Intel XMP 2.0 profile and a limited lifetime warranty.

This is the E version of Corsair's 16GB DDR4-3200 CL16 LPX kit. Same speed, same voltage, same low-profile heat spreader as the B, but looser secondary timings: 16-20-20-38 against the B's 16-18-18-36.

You won't feel that gap in games. If they cost the same, take the B.

Without XMP it runs at DDR4-2133 CL15. Turn the profile on in the BIOS to get 3200.

Speed and Latency

Speed and CL only mean something together: 16 cycles at 3200MT/s is 10ns of real delay, the common baseline for DDR4 gaming kits. The full timings are 16-20-20-38. tRCD and tRP sit 4 clocks above the CAS latency, so compare full timings, not just CL, against other kits at this speed.

Platform Fit

Fits DDR4 desktop boards: AMD AM4 and Intel 6th to 14th gen boards with DDR4 slots. It does not fit DDR5 boards. 3200MT/s is the common sweet spot for Ryzen 3000 and 5000, which run 1:1 up to about 3600MT/s. Profiles: XMP 2.0.

Capacity and Configuration

The two 8GB modules give you dual channel with two slots used. 16GB covers everyday use and lighter gaming, but recent games and browsers can fill it.

Build and Cooling

No RGB lighting, black heat spreader. Corsair does not publish the module height, so check your cooler's RAM clearance if you use a large air cooler. Warranty: limited lifetime.

Speed Score

Our DDR4 Speed Score for this kit is 8 out of 10, rated from its transfer rate and true latency against other DDR4 kits. Scores only compare within the same DDR generation.

Our verdict

Best for

  • You need 16GB of DDR4 for an existing Intel or AMD desktop and want the cheapest Corsair LPX 3200 kit
  • You want a low-profile kit that clears big tower coolers
  • You're on Ryzen 3000 or 5000, where 3200 MT/s is AMD's official memory speed

Not for

  • You're building new. DDR5 is the current platform
  • You want the tightest timings. The B variant runs 16-18-18-36
  • You want RGB lighting
