Dell Precision 5690 Review

Dell Precision 5690 is a 16-inch mobile workstation with a Core Ultra 7 165H (16 cores), RTX 3500 Ada (12GB), 32GB soldered LPDDR5X-7467, 1TB NVMe SSD and a 3840x2400 IPS display.

A mobile workstation weighing 2.17 kg with Windows 11 Pro. The 16-inch 3840x2400 panel is rated at 500 brightness but refreshes at only 60 Hz, which suits design and CAD work more than fast gaming. The RTX 3500 Ada has 12 GB of VRAM. The big limitation is memory: 32 GB of LPDDR5X is soldered with no slots, so you must buy the amount you need. Storage can grow, with 2 M.2 slots and 1 free. Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 7, a 130 W adapter and a 99.5Wh battery round out the spec.

Overview

The Precision 5690 is Dell's slim mobile workstation line, with ISV-certified RTX Ada graphics up to the RTX 5000, a dual M.2 slot layout, and soldered LPDDR5X for thinness at the cost of memory upgradability.

The Precision 5690 is a 16-inch mobile workstation with a Core Ultra 7 165H, 32GB of LPDDR5X and a 3840 x 2400 IPS panel rated at 500 nits. A 99.5Wh battery, Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 7 suit CAD and ISV-certified workflows plus color-critical work in a slim body.

The 32GB is soldered and the display is 60Hz. At 2.17 kg it is not light. Confirm the exact graphics card for your software before buying.
