Kingston FURY Beast KF432C16BBK2/16 Review
The Kingston FURY Beast KF432C16BBK2/16 is a 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 desktop kit at 1.35V with 16-18-18 timings, two Intel XMP 2.0 profiles and a 34mm heat spreader, for a true latency of 10ns.
This is a safe, standard DDR4-3200 CL16 kit. It lands at 10ns true latency, the same figure as 65% of the desktop DDR4 kits we list, with about a fifth tighter. Kingston's datasheet adds two useful details: a second XMP profile at 3000MT/s CL15 for boards that will not hold 3200, and single-rank modules at 34mm tall that clear most tower coolers. The limit is capacity. 16GB is fine for one game at a time, but if you stream, edit video or keep a lot open, we would buy a 32GB kit such as Kingston's KF436C17BBK2/32.
Speed and Latency
Speed and CL only mean something together: 16 cycles at 3200MT/s is 10ns of real delay (16 x 2000 / 3200).
That is the DDR4 mainstream. At the time of writing, 20 of the 103 desktop DDR4 kits we list are tighter, 67 match it at 10ns and 16 are looser.
Kingston's datasheet gives the XMP timings as 16-18-18, so tRCD and tRP sit two clocks above CAS, the same as Corsair's Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16.
Platform Fit
Fits DDR4 desktop boards: AMD AM4 and Intel 6th to 14th gen boards with DDR4 slots. It does not fit DDR5 boards.
3200MT/s is the common sweet spot for Ryzen 3000 and 5000, which run 1:1 up to about 3600MT/s.
Out of the box it runs at the JEDEC default of 2400MT/s CL17 and 1.2V. Enable XMP Profile 1 in the BIOS to reach 3200MT/s CL16 at 1.35V.
XMP Profiles
Kingston stores two XMP 2.0 profiles on these modules.
Profile 1: 3200MT/s, 16-18-18, 1.35V.
Profile 2: 3000MT/s, 15-17-17, 1.35V.
Profile 2 is a useful fallback. CL15 at 3000MT/s is also 10ns, so if your board will not hold 3200MT/s stable, you lose some bandwidth but not latency.
Capacity and Configuration
Two 8GB modules fill two slots in dual channel, which is the configuration boards run fastest with. Kingston's datasheet lists them as single rank (1Rx8).
16GB covers everyday use and lighter gaming, but recent games and browsers can fill it. If you stream, edit video or run virtual machines, buy a 32GB kit now rather than adding a second pair later.
Build and Cooling
No RGB lighting, black heat spreader. At 34mm tall it clears most large air coolers.
Kingston does not list the memory chips for this kit, so manual tuning headroom is unknown.
Kingston rates the modules for 0 to 85C operation. Warranty: limited lifetime.
Speed Score
Our DDR4 Speed Score for this kit is 8 out of 10, rated from its transfer rate and true latency against other DDR4 kits. Scores only compare within the same DDR generation.
Corsair's Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 scores the same 8.0.
Compatibility: AMD
On Ryzen 3000 and 5000, 3200MT/s runs 1:1, and AMD boards load the XMP profile through their own memory profile setting, such as DOCP on ASUS or A-XMP on MSI.
Ryzen 1000 and 2000 have lower official memory speeds, so Profile 2 at 3000MT/s or a manual setting may be needed there.
Compatibility: Intel
It fits Intel DDR4 boards from 6th to 14th gen. XMP needs a board that allows memory overclocking, which every Z-series board does.
On a board that locks memory speed, it falls back to the 2400MT/s JEDEC default or the CPU's supported speed.
Versus the competition
Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16: 16GB, 3200 CL16 at 16-18-18-36, 1.35V, 33.5mm. Practically identical. Winner: whichever is cheaper.
Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2D3600C18: 3600 CL18, also 10ns, Speed Score 8.5. More bandwidth at the same latency. Winner for Ryzen 5000.
Kingston FURY Beast KF436C17BBK2/32: 32GB at 3600 CL17, 9.4ns, Speed Score 8.8. Winner if you need more memory.

FAQs
Is the Kingston FURY Beast KF432C16BBK2/16 compatible with my motherboard?
It fits DDR4 desktop boards (AMD AM4 and Intel DDR4 boards). It does not fit DDR5 boards.
Is CL16 at 3200MT/s good?
Yes, it is the DDR4 standard for gaming kits. It works out to 10ns. Of the 103 desktop DDR4 kits we list, 20 are tighter and 67 match it.
Why does it run at 2400MT/s instead of 3200MT/s?
2400MT/s CL17 at 1.2V is the JEDEC default. Enable XMP Profile 1 in the BIOS to run at 3200MT/s CL16 and 1.35V. AMD boards may call it DOCP or A-XMP.
What is the second XMP profile for?
Profile 2 runs 3000MT/s at 15-17-17 and 1.35V. It keeps the same 10ns true latency, so it is a good fallback if your board will not run 3200MT/s stable.
Will it fit under my CPU cooler?
At 34mm tall it clears most large air coolers. Check your cooler's stated RAM clearance if it overhangs the memory slots.
Is the KF432C16BBK2/16 single or dual rank?
Single rank (1Rx8), per Kingston's datasheet.
