Kingston FURY Renegade CUDIMM KF584CU40RWAK2-48 Review
Kingston FURY Renegade CUDIMM KF584CU40RWAK2-48 is a 48GB (2x24GB) DDR5-8400 CUDIMM RGB desktop memory kit rated CL40, finished in Silver/White.
Kingston's flagship gaming CUDIMM line, sold alongside the standard Renegade UDIMM kits, offering higher validated speeds via the CUDIMM clock-driver design. This RGB Silver/White variant targets show-case Intel builds; Kingston also lists non-RGB and darker-finish CUDIMM SKUs in the same series up to 8800MT/s.
Speed and Latency
Speed and CL only mean something together: 40 cycles at 8400MT/s is 9.5ns of real delay. That beats 87% of the desktop DDR5 kits in our catalog.
Platform Fit
This is for DDR5 desktops: AMD AM5 on 600 or 800 series chipsets, and Intel 600, 700 or 800 series boards with DDR5 slots. It physically will not go into a DDR4 board. 8400MT/s needs a board and CPU that can train it; it is mainly aimed at Intel platforms. It has an Intel XMP 3.0 profile only. Most AM5 boards can still load XMP, but kits with EXPO are validated for AMD.
Capacity and Configuration
It ships as two 24GB sticks, one per channel, the layout every consumer board runs best with. Plan capacity now: adding a second kit for four DDR5 sticks usually forces the memory down well below its rated speed. 48GB is the comfortable amount for gaming and creative work in 2026.
Build and Cooling
It has RGB lighting on a silver heat spreader. There is no published module height, so measure clearance under a big air cooler before buying. Warranty: limited lifetime.
Speed Score
Speed Score: 9.5/10. The score blends transfer rate and true latency and only ranks DDR5 kits against each other.
Benchmarks
The benchmarks below are published results for specific applications. They are measured separately and do not feed the two scores above.

FAQs
Is the Kingston FURY Renegade CUDIMM KF584CU40RWAK2-48 compatible with my motherboard?
It fits DDR5 desktop boards (AMD AM5, Intel 600, 700 and 800 series with DDR5 slots). It does not fit DDR4 boards.
Is CL40 at 8400MT/s good?
It works out to 9.5ns true latency. That is tighter than 87% of the desktop DDR5 kits we list.
Can I add a second kit later for four sticks?
It is not recommended. Four DDR5 sticks usually run well below their rated speed. Buy the total capacity you need as one two-stick kit.
Is 8400MT/s good for AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000?
It works, but above about 6400MT/s AM5 usually switches to a 2:1 controller ratio. A 6000MT/s kit is the safer AM5 choice.
