Kramer VS-211UHD 2x1 4K60 Review
Kramer VS-211UHD 2x1 automatic HDMI switcher for 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) video with analog audio de-embedding, ARC support, configurable EDID, and firmware updates over RS-232 or mini-USB.
An older, now-discounted Kramer auto-switcher that trades 4:4:4 chroma for a lower price - fine for office signage or basic laptop-to-display switching where full-chroma 4K isn't critical, but it still gives you real EDID control and firmware update support that budget switches skip.
Overview
The VS-211UHD automatically switches between two HDMI inputs to a single 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) output, with Step-In over HDMI support, ARC de-embedding to a balanced stereo line, and configurable EDID handling for consistent source detection.

Expert rating6.3 / 10
Kramer's 4K60 4:2:0 HDMI auto-switcher with audio, reliable pro-AV build but again a video switcher rather than a USB-switching KVM.
Best for
- Budget-conscious 4K signal switching where 4:2:0 chroma is acceptable
- Installs needing ARC audio de-embedding
- Integrators wanting firmware-updatable EDID control
Not for
- Full 4:4:4 chroma 4K/HDR workflows (see VS-211H2)
- Keyboard/mouse KVM needs
- New installs prioritizing HDCP 2.2 (this is HDMI 1.4/HDCP era)
