Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 Review

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 with Core i3-1215U, 8GB DDR4 (one free SO-DIMM slot) and a 1920x1080 TN display.

One of the budget-family SKUs directly named in this category's design research: a single 8GB stick with one SO-DIMM slot free for a straightforward upgrade.

Overview

The IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 ships with one 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM and one free slot, plus a compact M.2 2242 SSD slot -- a genuinely upgradable budget chassis.

Our verdict

Expert rating5.7 / 10

The IdeaPad 3 15 has a Core i3-1215U, 8GB of DDR4 and a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 screen. One SO-DIMM slot is free, with support up to 20GB, so it is a reasonable base for buyers who plan to add memory for basic study and office work.

The panel is TN, which means narrower viewing angles and weaker color than IPS. Storage is only 256GB, WiFi 5 is dated, and the i3 will feel slow with heavy multitasking.
