LG gram 17 2024 Review

LG gram 17 2024 (17Z90S) with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 16GB soldered LPDDR5X, 512GB expandable SSD, 17-inch WQXGA IPS display, 1.35kg magnesium-alloy chassis, 80Wh battery.

LG's gram 17 remains the standout in the 17-inch category for actually being carry-friendly, using a magnesium alloy chassis to hit 1.35kg despite the large screen, plus a genuinely huge 80Wh battery.

Overview

The gram 17 keeps one spare M.2 slot for storage expansion even though memory is soldered, and its 80Wh battery is among the largest in the thin-and-light category, aimed at users who want desktop-replacement screen size without desktop-replacement weight.

Expert rating8.3 / 10

The LG Gram 17 offers a 17-inch 2560-wide IPS screen at only 1.35 kg, with an 80Wh battery and a Core Ultra 7 155H. That large screen without the usual weight penalty suits people who want long battery life on the road, and Thunderbolt 4 plus a free M.2 slot help.

The 16GB of LPDDR5X is soldered with no upgrade path. Graphics are integrated, so gamers and GPU-heavy creators should look elsewhere, and the panel is IPS rather than OLED.

Best for

  • Users wanting a large 17-inch screen without the usual weight penalty
  • Long battery life on the road

Not for

  • Gamers or creators needing discrete graphics
