MSI Titan 18 HX AI A2WX, RTX 5090 64GB Review

The MSI Titan 18 HX AI pairs a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU (24GB, up to 175W), 64GB DDR5 RAM, and up to four M.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe slots with SuperRAID support, behind an 18-inch 4K Mini LED 240Hz display rated for 1000 nits HDR peak brightness.

MSI's 2026 flagship desktop-replacement gaming laptop, built around the same Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and RTX 5090 pairing as ASUS's competing SCAR 18, with a vapor-chamber cooler and up to 270W total system power via MSI's OverBoost technology.

Four M.2 Slots for Storage Headroom

Unlike most gaming laptops that cap out at two M.2 slots, the Titan 18 HX AI ships with four, supporting MSI's SuperRAID 5 configuration for read speeds up to 18,000 MB/s.

Desktop-Class Cooling and Power

A vapor-chamber cooler and up to 270W total system power via OverBoost let this chassis sustain higher clocks than typical 18-inch gaming laptops, at the cost of portability.

Expert rating9.3 / 10

The Titan 18 HX AI pairs a Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with RTX 50 series graphics and 24GB of VRAM, plus an 18-inch 3840-wide Mini LED panel at 240Hz and 1000 nits. It offers 64GB of DDR5, four storage slots with 4TB installed, WiFi 7 and Thunderbolt 5 for a sustained desktop replacement setup.

This is not a machine for portability or battery life, even with a 99.9Wh battery. Plan on a fixed desk and a big bag.
