Samsung 860 EVO SATA III SSD, a dependable mainstream 2.5-inch drive that remains a solid, if dated, choice for SATA-only systems.

SATA speeds plateaued years ago, so a drive from this era isn't actually leaving much performance on the table versus a brand-new SATA SSD, the ceiling is the interface, not the silicon. Where it does show its age is endurance headroom and available capacities compared with its successor, but as a straightforward hard-drive replacement for an aging laptop or desktop, it still does the job without drama.
