The Rival 5 packs nine programmable buttons and TrueMove Air optical tracking into an 85g ergonomic shell aimed at FPS players who want a couple of extra inputs without going full MMO.
SteelSeries built the Rival 5 as a middle ground: more buttons than a typical shooter mouse (two extra thumb buttons plus a tilt-click wheel), but nowhere near the 12-button clutter of a Naga or Scimitar. The 8-zone RGB is genuinely bright, the shape favors medium-to-large right hands, and the detachable USB-C cable is a nice touch missing from a lot of wired competitors.
