Can I fit a higher capacity pack in my VAIO SX14 VJS141?
We found no larger pack listed for these models. The 53Wh VJ8BPS60 is sold for the later VJS124 to VJS126 and VJS144 to VJS146, and we have no source showing it fits the earlier chassis.
Is VJ8BPS52A 42.9Wh or 35Wh?
We do not know for sure. The seller we used rates it 42.9Wh at 7.7V, while other listings quote 35Wh at 7.6V for VJ8BPS52. Read the label on your old pack and match the voltage and capacity printed there.
Why does my VAIO say the battery is not genuine?
We have not found VAIO documentation on how its firmware treats a non VAIO pack. Ask the seller whether the pack is genuine VAIO and what label it carries.
Why did my new battery arrive at 30 percent?
Lithium packs have to ship partly charged under transport rules, so a low reading on arrival is expected. Fit it, charge it to full on the laptop's own adapter, and judge runtime only after a full cycle.
