ViewSonic VB-CAM-001 Review

ViewSonic VB-CAM-001 1080p webcam with a 110-degree ultra-wide lens and dual stereo microphones with automatic noise reduction for Zoom, Teams and Skype conferencing.

ViewSonic is better known for monitors than webcams, and the VB-CAM-001 reads like a display maker's answer to conferencing: an unusually wide 110-degree lens meant to be clipped to the top of one of its own monitors, and a dual-mic array with active noise reduction that filters out keyboard clatter and HVAC hum more aggressively than most competitors at this price.

A Monitor Maker's Take on Webcams

The VB-CAM-001's ultra-wide 110° lens is clearly designed to sit atop a wide ViewSonic monitor and still capture a full desk setup, a use case display manufacturers understand well.

Comparison to Alternatives

Against the Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p V3, both push wide fields of view, but ViewSonic's noise-reduction microphones are a more polished business-conferencing feature. It's a fixed-focus alternative to the autofocus-equipped Logitech C930e at a typically lower price.
