AVerMedia Live Gamer Bolt vs Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2: Comparison

AVerMedia Live Gamer Bolt vs Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2: which one fits your build

Take the AVerMedia Live Gamer Bolt for console streamers who don't own or don't want to use a gaming PC. It is equally the pick for multi-console setups needing to switch between two HDMI sources on one device. It is not the one for PC-based streamers who already run OBS, a PCIe or USB card is cheaper and more flexible. The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2 suits multi-camera event, church, and corporate production setups. It also earns its place with anyone who needs a capture device that works identically across many different software platforms without driver installs. It is the wrong buy for solo streamers who want a companion app with overlays and scene switching built in. Our rating of the AVerMedia Live Gamer Bolt (8/10): the clear pick for genuinely PC-free console streaming, at a price that only makes sense if you actually need that independence. Our rating of the Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2 (8/10): A production-grade capture box that works identically in every piece of software, with no drivers to chase.
