Adder Technology Adder AdderLink IPEPS vs Adder Technology Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD: Comparison
Adder AdderLink IPEPS vs Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD max resolution compared
Start with max resolution, because it is the widest measured gap between them: Adder AdderLink IPEPS 1600x1200 against Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD 2560x1600, 53% in favour of Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD. Add max resolution single display to that, 1600x1200 on the Adder AdderLink IPEPS versus 2560x1600 on the Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD, and the pattern holds.
Which should you buy, Adder AdderLink IPEPS or Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD?
Buy the Adder AdderLink IPEPS for branch offices needing remote BIOS-level access to one critical server, though it is not built for local desk switching between multiple co-located computers. The same goes for labs with a single piece of isolated equipment requiring occasional remote troubleshooting. Avoid it for data centers managing more than one remote server (see the Dominion KX III or KSX II). The Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD suits control rooms needing RS232-automatable quad-head DVI switching, though it is the wrong buy for triple-monitor or smaller setups (the TRI variant is cheaper) and budget buyers, given the premium quad-head pricing. It also earns its place with trading and surveillance desks running full quad-monitor spreads across 4 machines. Our rating of the Adder AdderLink IPEPS (7/10): A focused, affordable way to get true remote BIOS-level access to one critical server without a full IP KVM matrix. Our rating of the Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD (8/10): the right choice for a genuine quad-monitor, 4-computer desk, priced as a premium specialty switch.
Adder AdderLink IPEPS vs Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD price
At the last price check the Adder AdderLink IPEPS was $599 and the Adder AV4PRO-DVI-QUAD $1,956, a 226% premium.
