Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO vs SmartAVI DVN & DPN Series: Comparison
What is the difference between Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO and SmartAVI DVN & DPN Series?
Max resolution is where these two genuinely part company, Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO 2560x1600 against SmartAVI DVN & DPN Series 1920x1200, a 44% lead for Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO. Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO also leads on max resolution single display, 2560x1600 on the Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO versus 1920x1200 on the SmartAVI DVN & DPN Series.
Who each one is for
The Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO suits budget-conscious desks needing basic isolated switching between 4 DVI machines and legacy DVI workstations that haven't moved to DisplayPort/HDMI, though it is not built for users needing simultaneous multi-screen viewing (see the CCS-MV4224) and modern DisplayPort/HDMI-only hardware. It is not the one for desks requiring formal NIAP/Common Criteria certification (see the Cybex SC800 line). The SmartAVI DVN & DPN Series is the one to take for integrators scoping a multi-computer video-wall or lab install, though it is the wrong buy for HDMI-only environments (this family is DVI/DisplayPort) and small two-computer desks better served by a compact switch. The same goes for facilities that need either DVI or DisplayPort switching from one vendor family. Avoid it for anyone needing an exact spec sheet for a single fixed configuration. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO (7/10): an affordable way to add isolated switching to a 4-port DVI desk without paying for certification or multiviewer features.
