Who each one is for
Buy the Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO for budget-conscious desks needing basic isolated switching between 4 DVI machines and legacy DVI workstations that haven't moved to DisplayPort/HDMI, though it is the wrong buy for users needing simultaneous multi-screen viewing (see the CCS-MV4224) and modern DisplayPort/HDMI-only hardware. It is not the one for desks requiring formal NIAP/Common Criteria certification (see the Cybex SC800 line). The SmartAVI SM-UHN-4D-S suits dual-monitor HDMI workstations and video editors needing full 4K60 on both heads, though it is not the pick for DisplayPort-native monitor setups and single-monitor desks. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO (7/10): an affordable way to add isolated switching to a 4-port DVI desk without paying for certification or multiviewer features. Our rating of the SmartAVI SM-UHN-4D-S (8.2/10): one of the stronger dual-head 4K60 HDMI options in this price range; skip it if your monitors are DisplayPort.
