AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K: Comparison
AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K: the l3 cache difference
The gap that matters here is l3 cache: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 16 MB against Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K 12 MB, which puts AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 25% ahead. The benchmark result agrees. Blender Cycles (CPU) puts AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 28% ahead, 188 against 136 over 49 runs. AMD Ryzen 7 5700G also leads on l2 cache, 4 MB on the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G versus 2 MB on the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K. Pcie lanes runs the same way, 20 on the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G versus 16 on the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K, another win for AMD Ryzen 7 5700G.
Who each one is for
Take the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G for buyers wanting AMD's most capable desktop APU, combining genuine 8-core Zen 3 performance with practical integrated graphics. Avoid it for buyers on a tighter budget who don't need the full 8-core count, the 6-core Ryzen 5 5600G delivers similar iGPU capability for less. Take the Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K for gaming-focused desktop builds wanting strong 8-core per-core performance without paying for the i9-9900K's hyperthreading. It is not the one for buyers needing maximum multi-threaded throughput for content creation, the 16-thread i9-9900K handles that better.
Where the two are identical
The common ground is wider than the gap: total cores, performance cores, efficiency cores, integrated graphics and socket status are identical here. They match on 7 further specifications as well.
Which is cheaper, AMD Ryzen 7 5700G or Intel 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700K?
They cost within a few percent of each other, $359 versus $374 when we last looked.
Frequently asked questions
