8th Gen Intel Core i7 8809G vs 9th Gen Intel Core i7 9750H: which one fits your build
Take the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8809G for compact high-performance laptops wanting genuine discrete-class graphics without a separate GPU module. It is not the one for buyers seeking a conventional, widely-supported platform, this Intel-AMD hybrid chip was a short-lived, unusual design. Take the 9th Gen Intel Core i7 9750H for mainstream gaming laptops of the Coffee Lake generation wanting dependable, well-understood 6-core performance. Avoid it for buyers wanting the newer Tiger Lake or Comet Lake architecture, later generations offer meaningful IPC and efficiency gains over Coffee Lake.
What 8th Gen Intel Core i7 8809G and 9th Gen Intel Core i7 9750H have in common
Everything else lines up. Efficiency cores, integrated graphics, product line, form factor and market segment read the same on both, so those are not worth weighing. They match on 1 further specification as well.
