Can I fit a higher capacity pack in my Nitro 5 AN515-55?

The AN515-55 was also built with the 58.75Wh AP18E7M, so that is the only larger option we can point to, and it is barely larger. We have no source on fitting it in other models. We would buy the code your machine already has.

Why does my laptop say the battery is not genuine?

We have found no published source on how Acer firmware treats a non-Acer pack, so we cannot promise a third-party clone will run without a warning. We have not recorded a firmware state for this pack for that reason. If you see a warning, check the code and the voltage on the new label first.

Why did my new AP18E8M arrive at 30 percent?

Because it has to. IATA rules in force since 1 January 2026 require lithium ion batteries like this 57.48Wh pack to travel by air at no more than 30 percent of rated capacity. A low pack on arrival is correct. Charge it to full in the laptop and run it through a normal cycle before deciding anything about its health.
