The 16-inch Pro tier: same M5 Pro silicon family as the 14-inch but binned higher (18 CPU cores standard here), in the chassis with the biggest battery and best sustained cooling.
Performance
On the 16-inch chassis, Apple ships the M5 Pro only in its higher 18-core CPU / 20-core GPU bin — there's no lower-core Pro option here as there is on the 14-inch. The larger chassis also sustains clocks longer under continuous load.
Upgradability
24GB unified memory and 1TB SSD, both fixed at purchase — identical soldered/on-package design to every other MacBook. Configurable up to 128GB at checkout only.
Battery life
100Wh battery, the largest Apple fits in a laptop, rated for up to 22 hours of video playback on the Pro tier. This is the biggest single differentiator over the 14-inch for road warriors.

16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR at 3456x2234, ProMotion up to 120Hz, 1000 nits sustained / 1600 nits HDR peak — same panel technology as the 14-inch, larger and higher resolution.
