ASUS C41N1906 replacement battery: the 15.4V 90Wh 4 cell pack for the 90Wh builds of the TUF Gaming A15 FA506.

This pack fits the 90Wh builds of the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506, including the FA506IV, FA506QM and FA506QR. On those units the battery uses the space of the 2.5 inch drive bay, so a machine with a SATA drive fitted is not a straight swap. Our fitment notes say C41N1906 and C41N1906-1 differ in cable length, so buy the exact suffix on your old pack. The FA507 uses a different code, C41N2013. The fit is seller-listed, not ASUS-confirmed.

Bay conflict. On 90Wh FA506 units the battery takes the space of the 2.5 inch drive bay. A machine that has a SATA drive in that bay does not take this pack without losing the drive.

Our fitment notes say C41N1906 and C41N1906-1 differ in cable length and are not interchangeable. Read the suffix on your old label.

The FA507 looks similar and uses C41N2013. Do not cross them.

Safety and handling

A swollen pack means stop using the device now. Do not charge it, press on it, puncture it or pry at it with metal tools, and keep it out of water and household waste.

New packs ship at partial charge, around 30 percent, because air transport rules for lithium ion batteries require it. A pack that arrives low is correct, not faulty. Charge it fully before you judge it.

Recycle the old pack at an electronics or battery drop-off point. Never mail it back.

Age and condition

Lithium ion loses capacity on the shelf. Battery University's storage figures show roughly 96 percent retained after a year at 25C and 40 percent charge, against about 80 percent for a pack stored full. A pack that sat in a warehouse for years can arrive tired.

None of the listings we checked for this pack state a manufacture date code, so check the date printed on the label when it arrives. If the date is more than two years old, we would ask the seller for a fresher unit.

Can I put this 90Wh pack in an FA506 that came with a smaller battery?

Only if you give up the 2.5 inch drive bay, because the 90Wh pack takes that space. We have no ASUS source confirming the swap on a machine built with the smaller pack, so we treat it as unknown.

Why does my laptop say the battery is not genuine?

We have found no published source on how ASUS firmware treats a non-ASUS pack, so we cannot promise a third-party clone will run without a warning. An OEM C41N1906 is what the machine shipped with and we expect it to run without warnings. If you see a warning, check the code and the voltage on the new label first.

Why did my new C41N1906 arrive at 30 percent?

Because it has to. IATA rules in force since 1 January 2026 require lithium ion batteries like this 90Wh pack to travel by air at no more than 30 percent of rated capacity. A low pack on arrival is correct. Charge it to full in the laptop and run it through a normal cycle before deciding anything about its health.

Is the C41N1906 the same as the C41N2013?

No. Both are 15.4V 90Wh 4 cell packs, but C41N1906 is the FA506 part and C41N2013 is the FA507 and FX507 part. Different part numbers tied to different chassis.
