ASUS ZenScreen MB16AHP Review

If you're looking for the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AHP, it's the battery-powered sibling of ASUS's original ZenScreen line, built for people who want a second screen that doesn't need to be tethered to a wall outlet every time they open it.

We'd recommend the MB16AHP specifically because of that 7800mAh battery. Unlike the plain MB16AC, this one runs for a few hours off a single charge, so you can pull it out on a plane tray table or at a coffee shop without hunting for power. The 1080p IPS panel and 60Hz refresh rate are nothing special on paper, but for spreadsheet work, a second Slack window, or a Netflix screen at a hotel desk, it does the job at a lighter weight than most 15.6-inch competitors.

Battery Life and Portability

The built-in 7800mAh cell is the reason to pick this over a cheaper cable-powered monitor. ASUS rates it for roughly 3.5 hours of typical brightness use, which is enough to get through a coffee shop work session or a short flight without plugging in. At 0.79kg it's noticeably lighter than 17-inch portable monitors, and the foldable smart case doubles as a stand in landscape or portrait orientation.

Display Quality

1920x1080 on a 15.6-inch IPS panel gives you sharp enough text for coding or writing, with 100% sRGB coverage that's fine for casual photo work but not color-critical editing. There's no HDR and the 60Hz refresh rate rules out gaming use, so this is squarely a productivity and media display, not a creative or gaming one.

Comparison to Alternatives

Against the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC already in our catalog, the MB16AHP costs more but adds the battery, which is the whole point if you travel without reliable outlet access. Against the INNOCN 13K1F, the ASUS is bigger and has a plain IPS panel instead of OLED, so if punchy contrast matters more than screen real estate, the INNOCN wins; if you want a slightly larger, tougher-feeling monitor from a brand with wide retail support, go ASUS.
